The United Football League is for real. The UFL is going to kickoff in early October with games televised on VERSUS in HD. Even if ten fans show up at the inaugural game that means the league has accomplished a lot.
When no news exists in Presidential politics the time period is referenced as “silly season” – right now, the UFL is in that mode as we have to read the tea leaves until the next announcement.

My expectation is, if the league plays its cards right, the UFL of 2009 will look similar to what the United States Football League would have been in the fall of 1986, had the USFL played despite losing its antitrust lawsuit with the National Football League.
