As you know New York's head coach Ted Cottrell was the defensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers from 2007-08 until he got fired by Norv Turner during the last season. In January the Chargers also let go four more assisant coaches:

1/13/09 - Released secondary coach Bill Bradley and tight ends coach Clancy Barone from their contracts. Announced that contracts of offensive line coach Jack Henry and assistant secondary coach Kevin Ross would not be renewed for 2009 season.

Barone already found employment in the NFL again (TE coach w/ Broncos). Since Henry was an assistant on Jim Haslett's Saints staff for six seasons I've mentioned him as candidate for the Orlando staff before. But I think it's a good bet that Bradley and Ross will end up on Cottrell's staff.

Bill Bradley and Cottrell have worked together on three different NFL staffs before: From 1998-2000 with the Buffalo Bills and then from 2001-03 with the New York Jets. Bradley was the defensive coordinator at Baylor University from 2004-06. When Cottrell became the Chargers DC in 2007 he brought in Bradley as the DBs coach.

Former Pro Bowl DB Kevin Ross started his pro coaching career in 2003 as an defensive assistant with the Minnesota Vikings. Cottrell became the Vikings DC in 2004, so both worked there on the same staff until Vikings' HC Tice got canned after the 2005 season. In 2007 Cottrell brought Ross to the Chargers where he served as Assistant Secondary Coach for two seasons.

Bill Bradley has a lot of alternative league experience as well.
He has coached the San Antonio Gunslingers, San Antonio Riders and San Antonio Texans

When will they announce the staff for the NY team?

Considering Cottrell has been coaching for awhile and has been able to interact with many people he will probably bring some talented guys along.

Do you think Marty Schottenheimer would make a good fit?

As a future UFL head coach. No way he will take an assistant position in the UFL.
