The Hartford Colonials are off to a very good start.
The transplanted New York Sentinels are in a market which has fallen in love with a team that hasn’t played a game in 2010, and, now, the franchise has a name which makes all the sense in the world.
Using the nickname “Colonials” is perfect. It is a name that every red-blooded Hartford and Connecticut resident should rally around, and, if it is branded correctly, could become the best-branded United Football League team to date.
Now, if the Colonials can get the taste of the Sentinels’ 0-6 2009 season out of their collective mouth, they will have a completely successful transformation.

So, how to avoid the obvious Patriot comparisons?
What’s wrong with the Patriot comparisons?
Good name, better than the Knights in my opinion.
Can’t we have our OWN identity?? The first thing I thought of was the Patriots. I hope the logo is not a colonial soldier.
I liked Knights, the others had shades of other pro teams in them, come on, yankees, colonials. Seriously. be unique.
