Couch is the only one I can take seriously, if Quinn Gray is still on the roster I say Palmer should still give him a shot.

STING!!!!! - UFL Access Feature: Locos’ Bergen Happy in the UFL
Bergen, what a class act guy!Not to jump to any conclusions, but if Bergen has a stellar year in 2010 the Locos can go as far as repeating as champions in the UFL. Bergen has the potential to be a real star in the UFL.
GO LOCOS!!!
- PFT Rumor: NFL Tried to Buy UFL?
The UFL needs to stay independent from the NFL, I realize the “minor league” tag will apply for a long time, but the only way the UFL can rid itself of that unwanted title is if they remain true to the original mission statement. In that statement it says the following – “uphold a leadership role in the development of football…”If the UFL stays true to that they will not be simply the lap dog to the NFL, they will strive to be a coregent in the progress of the whole world of football. Obviously the UFL is not on the same level as the NFL, but the only way they can ever hope to be somewhat of a rival to the hollowed NFL is if they lay low for a while and supply the need for inexpensive, but quality football experience for regular middle class football fans who can’t afford to pay hundreds of dollars for aweful seats.
- Sunday morning news out of San Antonio
San Antonio? The one thing I wonder about putting a UFL franchise in San Antonio is that in a place where high school football is king, would there be room for a professional football team. I realize that San Antonio is deserving of a UFL team, but is it smart to put a team in a state that is already rich with football thanks to the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the abundance of prime high school programs. To me it would make a little more sense if the UFL put another western team in Portland or Salt Lake City.
Why Portland? In Portland the UFL wouldn’t be fighting with another major sports team at the same time, I wouldn’t exactly call the Seattle Seahawks a threat to steal fans. Also, in Portland the UFL would be able to give the northwest considerable attention and take a little focus of the major coastal metro areas.
Why Salt Lake City? With Salt Lake City the major plus would be that there is no major or minor competition for fans. The only reason I would discourage a franchise in Salt Lake City is that there is already a UFL franchise in the area and they aren’t to bad (Locos).
In the end I think a move to San Antonio would be the kiss of death for the UFL in Texas, at this current junction. A move to Portland or Salt Lake City would be more of a smart move, guaranteed they are not as big of metro areas, but those are places where the NFL has not addressed the football want.
- UFLA Report: San Antonio, Omaha 2010 Expansion Teams
Putting a UFL team in Omaha makes complete sense. The midwest deserves a team to follow. This last season wasn’t noticed at all by the majority of football fans in the midwest, because none of the four teams even played a game not on one of the coasts. Putting the a team in the midwest is a great idea for the expansion of the league.
