UFL’s Losman Agrees to Raiders Deal

Losman to RaidersShortly ago, Mike Florio of Profootballtalk reported that J.P. Losman had agreed to sign with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders, with Losman visiting Oakland today for a physical. PFT was told that Losman’s stint with the United Football League’s Las Vegas Locomotives under the direction of coach Jim Fassel was the impetus behind Oakland’s move. This evening, UFL Access can confirm PFT’s report. J.P. Losman will indeed find time with the Oakland Raiders this season. (Image, left, property of the NFL.)

Las Vegas Locos Clinch Championship Game Bid With 16-10 Victory Over Redwoods

The Las Vegas Locomotives clinched a berth in the United Football League’s Championship Game tonight with a 16-10 come-from-behind over the California Redwoods in front of 4,312 fans at Spartan Stadium. The Locos scored 10 points in the fourth quarter and intercepted a Redwoods pass with four seconds remaining in the game to thwart California’s last scoring threat.

Tuskers and Locos Provide Championship Preview on Wednesday Night

Wednesday night at 6 PM local time, 9 PM Eastern on VERSUS, the Las Vegas Locos will play host to the Florida Tuskers in what might just be a Championship Game preview. The two teams showed off potentially dominating defenses, solid offenses, and a tendency to close out their games strongly.

For more than twenty years Hambrecht has been dreaming of launching another football league following his experience with the United States Football League in the early 80s. United Football League Final Rosters Announced

JACKSONVILLE, FL (October 1, 2009) – The United Football League officially announced the final rosters for its four teams – the California Redwoods, Florida Tuskers, New York Sentinels and the Las Vegas Locos – as the first day of the League’s regular season begins today. Printable rosters follow and can also be found via the UFL’s website at www.ufl-football.com.

The United Football League Approaches

Two weeks from today the United Football League will kickoff their first season. It will be the first time in eight years that a non-NFL outdoor league will play a down of football. It has been a long, winding journey for the league – a journey that many folks said would never bring them to actually playing.
