The Redwoods had a chance to make tonight’s game on VERSUS (9 PM PST) matter and they fell short. With their defeat at the hand of the Las Vegas Locos last week the Redwoods ended their shot at the Championship Game but few expect the team to roll over for the Florida Tuskers. The Tuskers are in pursuit of perfection and if the Redwoods were to spoil their chance at 7-0 then they would earn themselves some positive buzz ending into the offseason.

United Football League Signs 31 Players to California Redwoods’ Roster

SAN FRANCISCO (August 18, 2009) – The United Football League announced today the signing of 31 players for its California Redwoods’ franchise, including former NFL standouts Obafemi Ayanbadejo, Paul Carrington and BJ Sams. The complete roster of players can be seen after the jump.

San Francisco Redwoods… Make that California?

AT&T Park, UFL California RedwoodsThe league (and we) had said all along that at least one of the initial team names trademarked would change when the names were officially unveiled. Other fan sites went on and on saying that all four names were for certain. In a last minute trademark filing the San Francisco franchise has another trademarked possibility: San Francisco Redwoods.
