14,292 fans showed up in Las Vegas last night to watch William Hambrecht’s dream come to life. For more than twenty years Hambrecht has been dreaming of launching another football league following his experience with the United States Football League in the early 80s. He had been actively working on the project for several years and despite a poor economy he managed to make his dream a reality.
On Thursday, October 8 at 9 PM JP Losman and the Las Vegas Locos will introduce their team to the public. Going against them will be the Dennis Green-led California Redwoods. VERSUS will broadcast all of the action in high definition, bringing the action into the living rooms of fans all over the country. Our advice: enjoy it.
The United Football League will have played one game and in the middle of another next week at this time.

What a week… In the last seven days the United Football League announced that their four teams would be branded as the Las Vegas Locomotives, California Redwoods, Florida Tuskers, and the New York Sentinels.
