UFL PR: United Football League Announces Motorola as League Foundation Partner

RUTHERFORD, NJ (September 28, 2009) – The United Football League announced today that Motorola will be one of the League’s “Premiere” Season Foundation Partners and the UFL’s exclusive communication device provider.

“Motorola is the global communications leader and we are thrilled to have them as a Foundation Partner for the UFL’s ‘Premiere’ season,” said Frank Vuono, COO of the UFL.  “We are integrating Motorola into our overall communications strategy by utilizing the company’s latest technologies to deliver our product to the fans.  Collectively, we are setting a new standard in how corporate partners are utilized in professional sports.”

As a Foundation Partner of the UFL, Motorola’s logo will be prominently displayed on the front bumper of the New York Sentinels’ helmet and the coaches’ headsets.  During the UFL broadcasts on VERSUS, UFL commentators will utilize Motorola CLIQ, Motorola’s newest smart phone with social skills to communicate directly with fans who subscribe to the service. Motorola will be included on ANC’s on-field LED rotational signage, receive commercial inventory on UFL’s VERSUS and HDNet telecasts and have first rights to collaborate on exclusive co-branded products.  Motorola will also be the title sponsor of the November 4th game at Citi Field when the New York Sentinels host the Las Vegas Locomotives.

“Motorola is proud to be working with the UFL in order to help support their mission to advance the game of football and make it accessible for fans everywhere,” said Erick Soderstrom, vice president of brand marketing, Motorola Mobile Devices. “Our partnership with the UFL gives us an opportunity to connect with a highly-desirable target for the Motorola brand.”

Motorola is the second Foundation Partner the UFL has announced.  Previously, the UFL released StubHub as its first Foundation Partner and preferred resale destination for fans.

The United Football League is a new professional football league that will kick-off its “Premiere” season this October. Featuring high-quality traditional football played by world-class athletes and former NFL coaches, the UFL’s “Premiere” season teams include the California Redwoods, Florida Tuskers, Las Vegas Locomotives and New York Sentinels. The UFL’s goal is to provide fans with affordable, innovative and entertaining game-day experiences. The UFL’s games, which will be broadcast live on VERSUS and HDNet, will culminate with a Championship Game on November 27th in Las Vegas.  Tickets are now on-sale in all markets and can be purchased by calling 877.UFL.2009 or visiting www.ufl-football.com.
