Access Speaks with Liberty Media, Turner Broadcasting
Today lead writer for UFL Access, Nation Hahn, set to work to attempt to stir up some tasty tidbits on possible TV deals for the United Football League. What he drummed up was inconclusive, but we’ll share the official comments all the same.
First stop was Liberty Media, a distributor for USA, Encore, STARZ, QVC and the like. Liberty has long been rumored as a front running entity in a UFL television deal, due to its relationship with USA. Courtnee Ulrich, a media rep for Liberty, had this to say concerning a UFL TV deal:
I believe our position is that we have no comment at this time.
UFLA also contacted Turner Broadcasting, the force behind TNT. They issued this comment to Access:
It is our policy not to discuss our negotiations in the press, so I can’t confirm/deny anything for you at this time.
All this leaves us at square one, but we do find Liberty Media’s response odd in its wording. Irrespective, stick with UFLA as we continue to poke around for information on the league’s forthcoming television deal.
