Breaking: UFL at Combine
UFL Access writer Nation Hahn got off the phone with Commissioner Michael Huyghue moments ago. They are expected to speak more at length tomorrow, because Huyghue is currently busy at the National Football League Combine in Indianapolis.
Huyghue told Access he was currently involved in a function at the Combine. The United Football League is meeting with all the agents present at the Combine tonight from 5 until 8 PM. Huyghue will then head back to Jacksonville in the morning, upon which time UFL Access expects to speak further with him.
The league’s activity at the Combine and move towards presenting themselves to player agents is particularly interesting given our earlier story on Sam Boyd stadium hosting the United Bowl in year one, in which stadium director Daren Libonati reported that the league would announce on March 1st (a date Access is still working to confirm). The beginning of March represents the first day NFL free agents are open to sign with whomever they choose, so the correlations between these events and the times they are arriving at is becoming of clearer import.
More as we receive it.Â

Isn’t he still an agent? I’m presuming he’s there at UFL Commissioner but I’m not sure. I thought you have to be allowed in the combine since it’s controlled by the NFL. Agents could get around that obviously. Maybe I’m making it more complicated than it is and the NFL is blessing this.
So when do you get your Pulitizer?
Maybe they are working on becoming a developmental league, then again them competing for the same prospects would probably not make that possible.
