DeDe Dorsey Signs with Detroit Lions

DeDe Dorsey Signs with Detroit LionsThe steady stream of United Football League players making the jump to the NFL hasn’t slackened just yet, with news coming this week that Las Vegas Locomotives running back stand out DeDe Dorsey has signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Lions.

“I just felt like Detroit has some pieces in place to be very successful and I wanted to be a part of that,” Dorsey told The Detroit News Tuesday. “I’m just excited to get up there and contribute any way I can, whether that’s running the football, catching it out of the backfield or contributing on special teams.”

Dorsey was a member of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals before exploding into professional football stardom with the UFL’s Las Vegas “Locos”, acting as a key proponent of the regular season success that found them squared up against the UFL’s 100-pound gorilla, the Florida Tuskers, in the UFL Premiere Season Championship. Dorsey went on to win the UFL Championship Game Most Valuable Player award (2 TD, 11 carries for 66 yards).
