I like the Raiola signing by Omaha, also, Cato June was a good player @ one time - Rick Mueller Mentions Jeff Garcia, D.J. Shockley as Omaha QBs
Omaha is going to put together a very fun watching team this year. - Analysis: Portland, Ore., would be smart choice for UFL
I am for Portland as well. It is interesting that they weren’t spoken about during the first go around, but glad they are now. - Instant analysis: UFL has many quality choices for 2011
Love the Hawaii idea! But SLC and Portland would be great choices. - Analysis: Norfolk off to a good start as UFL expansion franchise
Speros did a great job in the CFL, he will make it work.

Redwoods
Condors are cool
Sacramento Redwoods…..
OR the Sacramento Terminators
Playing in Hornet stadium- Sting is a natural
No one out of the Sacramento area will get the association between Hornet stadium and ‘Sting’. Why name the team after a stadium anyway. Is there nothing else about our area that might represent us a bit better than the wee little annoyance of a flying insect?
I think most people want to keep the name Redwoods, however if they had to use a different name I say it should be sting or senators, both are pretty good
STING!!!!!
‘Sting’, really? Is this a U-12 girls soccer team or a professional football franchise? The bear on the state flag, modeled after the flag used in the Bear Flag Revolt of 1846 is a Grizzly. How about the Grizzlys. Or Argonauts, for the leading pioneers that created our state. See ‘Argonauts of California’ a book written about our states leading founders? But please, anything but ‘Sting’ or ‘Surge’….
Argonauts! (http://www.legendsofamerica.com/ca-argonauts.html) Leaders, successful, pioneers, trailblazers, founders of our great state. Argonauts! Purely Sacramento (and region). Sutter, Brannan, Marshall, Stanford, Crocker, etc…
Bear Flag The sole legacy of the “California Republic” was the adoption of its flag as the basis of the modern state Flag of California. The modern flag has a star, a grizzly bear, and a colored stripe with the words “California Republic”. The Sonoma Plaza site of the raising of the original Bear Flag is marked by a California Historical Landmark.
The original Bear Flag was designed and made by William L. Todd, who was a first cousin of Mary Todd Lincoln,[4] wife of president Abraham Lincoln.
Talk about grounding the team with local history! The Grizzlies!
Sacramento Sting already taken….too bad. http://sacsting.hoopsystems.com/ Go Grizzlies! or Go Argonauts!
