UFL-Digitaria Partnership to Aid League’s Digital Strategy

The United Football League is going no-huddle when it comes to its digital media presence.

Today, the UFL is announcing a partnership with Digitaria (http://www.digitaria.com) for its Web site (www.ufl-football.com), which the league is aiming for an early-to-mid-April re-launch.

“It will be very, very soon,“ said Nation Hahn, UFL Director of Digital Media. “In an ideal world, we would launch the Web site and ticket sales around the same time.”

The UFL says it is pursuing a “disruptive digital media strategy,” and Hahn says the new Web site will be part of it.

“The UFL was founded because the original founders are huge fans of what we would call ‘disruptive technology’ or ‘disruptive innovation,’ ” said Hahn, “which, in the technology world, means low-cost, simpler technology. In that same vein, the UFL is designed to offer affordable football in an innovative way.”

Hahn said the new UFL site will, No. 1, be vastly improved in terms of appearance, and that it also will improve in functionality, but that not all features will be ready when the site re-launches.

The new-and-improved Web site will have digital media integrated into it, helping the league’s communication with fans.

Hahn said Digitaria is on board for the long haul, and that it has a track record of success.

“We sought them out,“ he said. “We were looking for a partner that would capture the essense of the UFL. We were really happy when we were able to come to an agreement with Digitaria.

“We want to improve the football product in ways that other ventures have not. We’re really aiming at underserved markets to carve out our own niche, and the Digitaria Web site will help us do that.”
