Vick Near Signing with UFL?

Tonight NFL Draft Bible is reporting that Michael Vick is preparing to lace up with the United Football League.

The report, while unconfirmed, comes close on the heels of Chris Mortensen’s editorial that pronounced the UFL may be the glove that fits Vick best following his release from prison. A number of other factors lead UFL Access to believe that NFL Draft Bible may be on the mark. Recent rumors have suggested playing in the UFL would be worth Vick’s time. While quarterbacks are set to make the most of any flavor of player in the UFL – $200,000 for the abbreviated first season – whisperings in dark corners of the sports world (corners UFL Access frequently peeks into) suggest that Vick could land as much as $1.5 to 2 million, an offer that simply could be too much for a former NFL player in dire financial straits to pass up.

UFL Access will be here first to deliver the news of Michael Vick’s future, one way or the other. If the UFL is his destination, Vick should find himself under the capable watch of Jim Haslett of the UFL Orlando franchise.

  1. I think the deal is done. Just a matter of time before Vick’s people and the UFL anounce the signing.

  2. YES! I believe the details financially have to be worked out before the signing is made public. This is wonderful news for the UFL, the UFL fans, and Michael Vick! Even though he will only be around for 1 season, it will bring instant recognition and respectability to the UFL, where “Tomorrows Stars Play Today”.

  3. This move would be a big big mistake by the UFL.

  5. While what he did was abhorrent, Vick has paid a high price. If he is truly remorseful, he deserves, as would anyone, a second chance. The UFL may well be the best place for Vick to begin again, both for the opportunity it would offer him and the publicity it would grant player and league.

To those who disagree with the opinions above, I would say this: Hey, every good story needs a villain.
