The winds of change are blowing through both the United Football League and UFLAccess.com.
First of all, congratulations are in order for UFL Access spearhead Nation Hahn – it was announced yesterday that he’s joined the UFL as Director of Digital Media. My thanks go out to Nation, who gave me a chance to write for this website despite not knowing me from Adam, and his friendship and guidance have been much-appreciated.
Second, have you seen the newest incarnation of UFLAccess.com – UFLAccess.com 4.0? Of course you have – you’re reading this, aren’t you?
Then, there is my new role as UFL Access’ News Director, taking over for Nation. It is very humbling to have been asked by both Nation and Billy Kirk to take this position, and it didn’t take long for me to accept.
For those of you who haven’t been with UFL Access very long, and perhaps if you have, you might be wondering – who is Dusty Sloan? Well, I am a near-17-year veteran of professional sports journalism, starting at my local newspaper when I still was in high school. I’ve been a sports stringer, a sports writer, a sports freelancer and a sports editor, so there is little I haven’t seen or done in this field.
I also have been a football fan for the better part of 24 years, and a football researcher for who knows how long. And as far as following non-National Football League football, I’ve seen them all – ArenaBall, the World League of American Football/NFL Europe, the XFL, and everything in between.
And as Fran Stuchbury has indicated on the message boards, I will co-host “Inside the UFL” this season with him, and our combined football knowledge will make for a very informative and fun show.
I look forward to working with Billy, Fran, Ron Bodine and Xander Rich moving forward, and to keeping in touch with Nation as well as he begins his new job.
My goal is a simple one – maintain UFL Access’ status as the best place to find information, analysis and opinion about the UFL, and to help grow the site as well.
So come join me as we continue to see what I whole-heartedly believe is the growth of the “NFL for non-NFL markets” – professional football made for US, played for US and all about US!

I look forward to working with you Dusty. Let me know if you need my help with anything.
