Drew Rosenhaus Denies Grossman Report

Our recent report that Rex Grossman was among the players attending the invitation-only tryout in Las Vegas coming up next month was picked up by a number of media outlets after an ESPN.com blogger linked to us earlier today. Grossman’s agent Drew Rosenhaus tried to bat down the story in the Chicago Sun-Times:

“Rex will be playing in the NFL this season,” Rosenhaus said in a text message today. “We have not considered any other leagues. He will be on a NFL roster by the start of training camps.”

A report surfaced on uflaccess.com Sunday citing a Las Vegas TV station that reported Grossman and former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell were among the players who would be attending a UFL “pro day.”

UFL spokeswoman Rachel Gary said teams in the newly formed league will be holding “invitation-only private workouts” in the coming weeks, but declined to offer specific names.

Our earlier source is a reliable one. Irrespective of Grossman’s participation in the Las Vegas tryout, UFL Access believes his camp has held discussions with the league at some juncture or another.

  1. Rosenhaus was probably just trying to save face because he didn’t want the UFL to become Grossman’s only option. He is still holding out hope that Grossman could sign with an NFL team.
