The Orlando Sentinel weighs in on the Tuskers pursuit of perfection:
The Florida Tuskers look to cap off the “premiere” season of the United Football League with a perfect record tonight when they face the California Redwoods at AT&T Park in San Francisco (9 p.m., Versus, Channel 102 on Bright House).
It may seem like a small feat, going 6-0 in the fledgling league, but don’t tell that to any of the Tuskers.
“The incentive is to win all of them.” Tuskers head coach Jim Haslett said of the regular season and next week’s championship game, in which the Tuskers will face the Las Vegas Locomotives on Thanksgiving weekend’s Black Friday. “If they can win seven games it says a lot about their character and who they are and I think it will help them get to where they want to be, too. A lot of people are looking at them.”
After next week’s championship game, players will be free to start migrating back to the NFL, where a lot of these players have spent time and are looking to get back.
“We have a lot of guys who I think you are going to see playing in the NFL, if not this season, then the next,” Haslett said. “So every one of them have personal incentive.”
