NEW YORK, NY (February 1, 2010) – Commissioner Michael Huyghue announced today the hiring of former UFL Access principal Nation Hahn as the League’s new Director of Digital Media. The UFL will be making a series of personnel announcements over the next few weeks, including League/team executives and coaches.
“The UFL had an extensive following before ever announcing our ‘Premiere’ season, thanks to a dedicated fan site created by Nation that promoted the League and all of its developments,” said Commissioner Huyghue. “We are extremely grateful for the work that Nation and his team did covering the UFL for the past 18 months and are looking forward to his leading our expanded online presence and social media efforts.”
“I am very excited to join forces with the UFL as I truly believe in the future of the United Football League and the executives behind this venture,” added Hahn. “I am looking forward to the coming season as we launch a revamped website and a digital media presence that will provide fans with a front row seat to all of the action.”
An entrepreneur and visionary, Hahn joins the UFL as Director of Digital Media. Hahn spearheaded the creation of UFL Access.com, which became the number one independent source of UFL information. UFL Access will remain an independent site and be managed by Hahn’s former partners. Hahn’s role at the UFL will be multi-faceted and include the enhancement of the UFL brand among existing and prospective fans, the production of original content for the UFL websites and the overall development of social media initiatives. Hahn began his career in development while working on the John Edwards Presidential Campaign and Linda Ketner’s Congressional Campaign. Most recently, Hahn worked with the Sierra Club in a development and fundraising capacity.

A very big congratulations to Nation Hahn for this opportunity. This goes to show you what an excellent Commisioner Michael Huyghue is. He is bringing on the best, most qualified people to run this league. I am very excited about the upcoming season, and looking forward to buying my 6 season tickets for my family and I. Nation did a great job over the last couple years of really getting me excited and pumped up about this league. Thank you Nation! GO UFL!!!
GO TUSKERS!!!
Congratulations to Nation!
Nation is going to do a great job for the league. And we will continue to strive to make UFLAccess the best place to go for UFL information, the league Web site aside.
Congrats on the new job opportunity Nation!! Thanks for all the hard work you put into this site keeping us informed as much as you could, and making sure my info got to Ben for the VIP passes. Hopefully you and the league enjoy great success. I guess now we know why Nation was so convinced there would be a 2010 season lol.
Sad to hear he will be gone from UFL Access, well, probably not gone, just less present. But congratulations!!!!! What a great way to recognize the contributions Nation has made to the UFL through this site.
Great News all around.
(My only concern is that with Nation truly on the inside, maybe we will get fewer inside stories than we did when he was not technically on the inside. Say it ain’t so, Nation. More scoop!!!!!)
No way. No freaking way.
And this explains why he was such a shill for the league all this time.
I will be your inside source for anything and everything – minus scoops, for that you will have to rely on Dusty, Billy, Fran, Ron and the rest.
Thank you all for the well wishes. I am excited to hit the ground running.
SPTusker,
That’s just a little bit cynical, isn’t it?
Nation that’s awesome!!
Thanks Randall! Hope to see you at Tuskers games this year.
Congrats Nation. Good luck with your new job.
Nations shoes are pretty much impossible to fill. I really do not know how he found the time to do all the work that he did. You’re up, Billy. lol
Congats. Hard work pays off. Good Luck!!!
Grats Nation. Truly deserved!
Congrats Nation! Hope to hear some things from ya real soon!
great work Nation and best of luck
Wow, I didn’t know that we were in the presence of a visionary! Congrats, I wish you all the best.
Thanks everyone! I think the league is being entirely too kind with the visionary label but I am glad to be on board.
Now stay tuned to UFLAccess.com and ufl-football.com!
This is a test comment, mostly. But yes, stay tuned to both websites!
Dusty:
Maybe. But it’s a bit unfair to have been giving fawning coverage of a troubled league (and shouting down those who would dissent) when you’re angling for a job with that league. At least without disclosing it. If that was his intention all along, that doesn’t exactly say “impartial journalist” to me. And I have a hard time believing that wasn’t his intention all along.
If you’re going to be a fanboy, be a fanboy. Just don’t pretend to be a journalist.
The haters always come out ,don’t they? Yes, the has been Nation’s secret plan since 2007. I commend him for it.
I agree w/ @ANDYG. Don’t falt Nation for jumping on board when you really don’t know everything. Anyway, being a fanboy doesn’t necessarily contain the type of responsibility and money he’ll earn now. His new nickname? UFLNation! Well deserved.
SPTusker,
Sour grapes. Which is your affiliation? Fanboy or journalist?
Congratulations Nation and very well deserved as you did more to promote a new league than anyone I have ever seen or been in contact with. The fan expierences before game were incredible and I know many of us are extremely grateful.
